Al Barsha is now a very established residential development in Dubai. It is located in West Dubai between Sheikh Zayed Road and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road. It has several sub communities including Al Barsha I, Al Barsha II, Al Barsha III and the very new Al Barsha South compounds.

Al Barsha has distinct zones, each with its own accommodation options. The main area offers large villas with big gardens and is popular with local families and the other area offers small compounds or apartment living.
Accommodations are scattered throughout Al Barsha. New apartment blocks closer to Mall of the Emirates are popular with young professionals working in Media City, Internet City and TECOM. Yearly rent ranges from the low end at 85,000 AED for a 1 bedroom apartment to 300,000+ AED for a larger 4+ bedroom villa.
Al Barsha’s location is fantastic with easy access onto Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road & Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road. As the population has increased so too has the amount of available shops and now there are many options for grocery shopping. There is Carrefour in Mall of Emirates, LuLu Supermarket, the Al Barsha Mall with Union Co-Op and the most recent addition to grocery shops in the area is a Spinneys supermarket located in Al Barsha 2. Surrounding each of these shops are the normal pharmacies, coffee shops, opticians etc and at the bottom of most apartment blocks are small grocers and eateries. However, on Al Barsha’s doorstep is The Mall of the Emirates which has every shop imaginable along with a great choice of eating establishments and an indoor ski slope!
The Kempinski Hotel & Sheraton Hotel at Mall of Emirates have many restaurants and lounges that are licensed to serve alcohol. Al Barsha is also just across Sheikh Zayed Road from the Madinat Jumeirah and a short drive to Dubai Marina.
There is a MediClinic clinic in Al Barsha and the nearest hospital with emergency room is either the private Saudi German Hospital in Al Barsha 3.
The area is well served for schooling options with The American School of Dubai, Dubai American Academy Dubai College and Wellington International School all being popular expat school. While there are no formal social clubs in Al Barsha there are numerous art, exercise classes and theatre options available through DUTAC located within the Mall of the Emirates. There is a great park called Al Barsha Pond Park with many fitness options such as a walking track, work out stations, tennis and basketball courts. Al Barsha is a short drive from Wellington International School and The Meadows area of town where many kids activities take place. However, don’t forget the indoor ski slope in Mall of the Emirates which provides hours of entertainment all year round for the children and adults.
Al Barsha is served by public transport with buses and the metro station at Mall of Emirates.
